I was sure the April Fool story in this morning's news paper was an item about Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg telling an interviewer he had had sex with "not more than thirty" women.
The notion of a Lib Dems leaders shagging around is hard enough to swallow (oops, pardon!) but shagging women; not even a fool would believe that.
It turned out I was the fool (well I've never been a morning person) and Clegg had indeed told that story in the interview.
Keep in mind the fact we only have his word for it though.

The real April Fool story reported Gordon Brown had asked Carla Brunei, the French president's wife, to give some of his cabinet ministers a wardrobe makeover.
