The Chairman of the British Medical Association this week accused the Government, the LABOUR Government mind you, of privatising by stealth the National Health Service and running the business of providing care to the sick and infirm in a manner appropriate to a shoddy Supermarket war.
When Boggart Blog sought a response to this a spokesman for Lidl xxx The Department of Health said, In this uncertain economic climate customers are looking for value for money and we have to respond the demands of the Market. If the market demands special offers then we must provide special offers.
When the Boggart Network News reporter asked what kind of special offers the Department had in mind the official replied; Our kidney transplant programme is a good example. Faced with increasing numbers of people going abroad to get new kidney and even accepting pigs kidneys we decided to launch a Bogoff scheme for top quality British kidneys. You buy one, you get one for free.
We asked was it not true that people can function very well with just one kidney the spokesman said it was true but why should anybody accept one kidneys, human beings are entitled to two and with an NHS Bogoff voucher the cost of replacing a pair need not be prohibitive.
So there we have it, at last the Government has openly acknowledged it plans to say Bogoff to publicly funded healthcare.
