Over the past couple of weeks Boggartblog has brought you news of animals taking to wearing clothing, bats in bras and pants, snakes in pyjamas (not to be confused with the one-eyed-trouser-snake which often resides in pyjamas).
Now a more sinister turn.
Last week a parrot called Bob alerted his owners to the fact that their house was on fire, screeching until the sleeping householders were roused. The pets owners fled the burning house, taking Bob the parrot with them.
Reported today from Wellington, N.Z., the case of Rabbit the rabbit, a family pet allowed the run of the house by his owners. Earlier ths week the owners were awakened by the sound of Rabbit thumping himself against their bedroom door, at which point they realised the house was on fire, and, grabbing Rabbit, fled to safety, whilst neighbours rushed to try to douse the blaze until the firecrew arrived.
Co-incidence? Or should GB be cancelling his summer holiday to have summit talks with the PM of New Zealand to try to get to the bottom of the mystery, say by making it illegal for all pets under the age of 18, or who look under the age of 18, to buy matches, lighters or lighter fuel.
