Golden Calories

by ianrthorpe @ 2008-08-16 - 18:23:12

By the end of the Olympic Swimming events it’s a toss up whether Michael Phelps will have more gold medals than he consumes calories in an average day.

In view of the efforts of Government health advisors to persuade us to take up a more healthy diet and do more sport to reduce the impact of "the obesity timebomb" we feel it was a mistake for Phelps' trainers to reveal details of his diet.

The wonder swimmer consumes 12,000 calories a day, including large pizzas, burgers, cheese sandwiches laden with mayo, huge bowls of pasta with rich sauces, 12 egg omelettes milk shakes, energy drinks and much much more…..

You can just imagine Ma and Pa Lardarse, slobbed out on their sofa in front of the television as their jelly - like son wobbles fatly on the reinforced chair at his computer desk, saying “ Duh, no wonder our little Tommy never does anything ‘cept play computer games. Poor kid isn’t eating enough, he’s go no energy. We need to feed him more and maybe he will become an Olympic superstar.

Diet? What the heck is a diet?! It's all down to exercise, isn't it!

(Like jumping up and down when Arsenal score!) ;)

You will not burn many calories if you only jump up and down when Arsenal score Ros!

One nil to the Arsenal :D

Now if you were to jump up and down every time Accrington Stanley concede one.....
We have no incentive this season you see. Whith three teams getting a shitload of points docked, the rest were more or less safe without even kicking a ball.

That might explain why Barnet have lost their opening games 3-1. No incentive to hold on to a one-nil lead! :))

Here's a bit of interest for the coming season.

Premiership, OK. Will last seasons three promoted teams all go straigh back down. I mean hull and Stoke are doomed and West Brom have an even more consistent record than Bolton and Sunderland at being promoted and going back down the next season.

There could be something in that, blubber is very buoyant. Couldn't be a diver though, wouldn't even enter the water never mind without making a splash.

A new event.

The Olympic Bombing at the deep end :D

(Categories: off the side, springboard and high (5m and 10m) board.

We must write to Seb Coe and get it included for 2012.

Might have to change the name though so the Americans don't get the wrong idea.
