The old warror stepped forward to face his critics, heavy set, grey haired, somewhat overweight and slightly clumsy looking. Ponderously he raised his hand to command attention.

“Enough is enough,” he said in a voice oozing gravitas, the joke had gone too far even for him. There was even a chance he might win to the detriment of a younger, more able individual and so, reluctantly he had decided to step down.

We may dream of course but we will never actually hear Gordon Brown say anything like that, no matter how bad things may get.

So while the Strictly Come Dancing debacle goes on to its conclusion without John Sregeant,a great news man but a clueless, bumbling dancer, Gordon Brown, the clueless, bumbling Prime Minister coninues to bask in undeserved praise for his great work in making the financial crisis worse but taking the heat of political leaders for a couple of weeks by pulling the old trick of managing to look as if he was doing something.
