Labour's War On Fun

Long ago I suggested both here and on the now on life support but clinging on Little Nicky Machiavelli blog that in order to stop Labour's jackbooted march towards authoritarianism we would have to start a campaign of civil disobedience.

After reading Juzzzy's blog post Labour Are Killing Pubs it is clear the time has come to raise The Dead Flag, chant the slogan They Can't Put Us All In Prison and get started. When the government respects the law so will we.

Refuse to renew your TV licence or car tax
Don't return the electoral register form.
Drink tinnies in the street.
Ignore speed limits and parking restrictions
Refuse to pay fines.
Don't fill or return in tax forms.
Query everything.

We can bring the entire nation to a standstill in a matter of days and
THEY CAN'T PUT US ALL IN PRISON.

I ran away to live in a civilized country.
Where people freely laugh and smile without being arrested.
Smoke in public places during meals.
Ride motorbikes without helmets while on the mobile phone and drinking a cup of coffee. Once I saw a guy riding a motorbike without a helmet (well that's a given over here) drinking a coffee and smoking and carryng an open umbrella to stop the rain getting on him!
Put all our rubbish in one bin - and get it collected 3 times a day or more 7 days a week.
But I support your struggles from afar brothers.
If it gets too much for you, come and live here - it's nice

Freedom Means

I drive along the road with a smile on my face
and beep to say hello to the guy who wants to race,
watch the motorbiker without a helmet trust to fate
and drink his cup of coffee while phoning up a mate.

I put all my rubbish in the one communal bin
The binmen take it away 4 times a day and never make a din.
The smokers gather in restaurants and it doesn't bother me
The locals gather for celebrations in groups much larger far than three.

It's normal behaviour to go any way you like
up a suggested one way road in a car or on a bike
Road workings are achieved with the minimum of fuss
if we want to avoid an accident the onus is on us.

Health and Safety is a mystery of which no-one here has heard,
My neighbour heads off each morning armed to shoot himself a bird,
I walk in confidence alone- a woman late at night
knowing I am safe as long as I don't start a fight.

The police here aren't much in evidence, but no-one makes a stink,
they mostly behave because they care what their neighbours think.
