Brown Demands More Afghans In Afghanistan

In the face of blistering criticism from the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats and mounting unrest among his own MPs Gordon Brown maintained the escalation of the war in Afghanistan is justified and has demanded the Afghan government in Kabul send more of their army to the front line alongside the British and Americans.

More heavily armed Afghans among the British and American soldiers. Excuse us, but isn’t the crisis now unfolding in Afghanistan due to heavily armed Afghans getting among our guys and killing them?

The trouble with Afghans is you can never tell. They are all on their own side and shoot at the guys they're paid most to shoot at. Now it could be said Gordon and Obama should pay them more than the warlords but as Afghanistan poses no danger to Britain, there is no reliable evidence it was ever an Alkie Ada training centre (we only have the word of Blair and Bush for it) and we could do with a few new schools, hispitals and public transport systems I say bring our lads home and let the Afghans get on with it.

Despite trying my best,i could never understand why Brits or even Americans should fight in Afghanistan.Am i missing something?

  It's because George W bush and Tony lair allowed themselves to be persuaded Al Qaeda and The Taliban were the same thing.

There are loads of Afghans in London. Couldn't they be recruited and sent out as some sort of reinforcements?

  That's a better plan than I've heard from anybody in government. But are you sure its Afghans (plural) When I was last in London I only remember there being a lot of AFGHAN around
